Rhondi Miller, PT, MS, SCS, ATC, CPI, Owner
Rhondi has been a physical therapist (PT) for 16 years and and specializes in sports and orthopedics. She enjoys working together with clients to achieve their rehabilitation and fitness goals. She skillfully combines manual therapy and rehabilitative exercises to help clients decrease pain and maximize function. She marvels at the compatibility of the neuromuscular reeducation components of physical therapy and Pilates. Her passion is treating sports injuries, specifically for joint instabilities and core strengthening. She especially excels in treating dancers and gymnasts.
Rhondi also lectures locally and regionally on varied sports physical therapy topics and is a Board Certified Sports Physical Therapist through the American Physical Therapy Association. She received her advanced Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse in 2001. She received her Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy from UW-Madison in 1993. Rhondi completed her comprehensive Pilates training through Balanced Body and has been a certified Athletic Trainer since 2000 through National Athletic Trainer Association.
In 2002, Rhondi was honored to be part of the Salt Lake Olympics Medical Staff. Currently she is a member of Minnesota Dance Medicine (www.mndancemed.org), Minnesota Physical Therapy Association, and is a Minnesota State High School League gymnastics official. Originally from Wisconsin, Rhondi lives in Eden Prairie and enjoys all outdoor activities with her husband and two daughters.
Valerie Tonkin, PT, DPT, Pilates Instructor
Valerie is a native of Nebraska. She relocated with her husband to Minneapolis from Colorado in 2008. She completed her bachelor’s of science degree in Sports and Exercise Science in 2003 at the University of Northern Colorado, followed by her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2006. After realizing how great Pilates made her own body feel, it didn’t take long for Valerie to appreciate that gaining Pilates skills would be a great supplement to her physical therapy expertise.
Val completed a comprehensive Pilates training program through Polestar Pilates in Denver, CO in 2008. Her background within the physical therapy practice is with orthopedic and sports medicine patients. Valerie loves using her Pilates skills with a variety of patients, enabling individuals to work towards a strong and balanced body to enhance their health and lifestyle.
Ginny Massie, Pilates Instructor, Studio Manager
Ginny Massie has a lifetime love of movement, and is passionate about sharing the many benefits of Pilates with others. After several pregnancies, Ginny discovered Pilates and was wowed by how it changed her body and mind. Ginny has practiced and studied Pilates for the past 7 years, and has completed her Pilates training through Balanced Body. Born in St. Paul and raised near Seattle, Ginny recently moved back to MN from North Iowa, where she owned her own Pilates studio. Besides Pilates, Ginny’s main loves are her husband and three children.
Cari Riis Stemmler, BB Pilates Master Teacher, PMA Gold CPT, CPT, Owner
While dancing professionally in Los Angeles, Cari started teaching Pilates in 1997. She has been a practitioner of Ashtanga, Hatha and Anusara yoga since 1996, and became a Certified Fitness Trainer (ACE/NASM) in 2002.
She now brings together the disciplines of dance, Pilates, yoga, and functional training to cultivate a well-rounded approach to fitness and wellness. A PMA Gold certified instructor, Cari currently teaches comprehensive Pilates courses & continuing education throughout the country as a faculty member for BB (Balanced Body Education) under the tutelage of Nora St. John. As well, she teaches continuing education courses on integrating Pilates with Physical Therapy and special conditions with the fantastic women of Core Conditioning (Los Angeles).

In 2004, she trained in Dance Medicine with the prestigious Harkness Center for Dance (NYC), and has lectured at National Dance Summits at the Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles. She is also a member of Minnesota Dance Medicine. Cari has performed as a dancer in many venues doing both commercial and company work. After living and teaching in Los Angeles for 12 years she has recently returned to her home state, and opened Paragon with Rhondi. She also holds a B.A. degree in Cross-cultural Communication from the U of MN.
Colleen McClellan Ueland, Pilates & Dance Instructor
Colleen Ueland is a professional dancer with over 15 years of experience as a movement educator. She has been working as a choreographer and dancer for years, and teaches many styles of dance to young kids and adults alike. Colleen is a practitioner of yoga as well. She has been utilizing the Pilates method for the past 10 years in her work as a dancer and dance educator, and has received her Pilates education through Balanced Body.
Virginia Steffl, RN, Pilates Instructor, Reiki Master
Virginia Steffl has been working as a healthcare professional for the past 28 years. She coordinates and personalizes wellness plans for clients to realize their full potential. Virginia integrates Pilates, Health Coaching, complementary therapies and other mind/body healing modalities including Reiki and Heartmath. Virginia has survived, benefited and applied tools from her own success and long-term fulfillment of life’s process. She brings this experience by compassionately assisting others in their journey of self-discovery by providing a mindful approach to positive change.
Amanda Quinlan, Pilates Instructor
Amanda’s love of dance and fitness lead her to Pilates, and she soon developed a passion for the Pilates method. After several years of study, she wanted to share the benefits of Pilates with others and received her comprehensive instructor certification through Balanced Body. Amanda enjoys helping her clients achieve their fitness and wellness goals. Her clients enjoy her enthusiasm, excitement, and ability to create a fun, supportive — and physically enriching — atmosphere. Amanda received her B.S. in Business Marketing from the University of MN in 1999, and completed her MBA in Marketing from Capella University in 2001.
