What is Pilates?

Challenge your body and mind with our Pilates classes.

Developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s, the Pilates method uses a whole-body approach to gaining strength and improving function by accessing your deepest core muscles. The exercises focus on alignment, precision, and flow as a foundation for building strength and flexibility throughout the body. Pilates helps control of the body through all ranges of motion and is very joint-friendly when performed correctly.

We offer a variety of mat classes, equipment classes and specialty classes at our Edina Pilates Studio to accommodate your fitness level and improve your wellness. We also offer private and semi-private sessions in classical and rehabilitative Pilates.

How to get started at Paragon Pilates

Safety starts with a functional assessment.

Our goal is to keep clients safe and healthy.  Before you sign up for a class, we’d like to take an opportunity to get to know you and your body better. We require that all new clients start with a functional assessment before starting equipment classes or private lessons. During this session, we will review some of the Pilates fundamentals, and gather vital information that helps us learn about your body,
fitness goals and medical history.

We highly recommend, but do not require an assessment for mat classes if you have prior experience. If you’ve never participated in Pilates, we also require 5-10 private/duet sessions to cover the basics of the Pilates method.

Please be on time for your class or session. If a client does not arrive or call within 15 minutes of the start of the session it is considered a late cancellation.
